a small zine. technically done a long time ago ( a month ) but I finally got off my ass and pdf'd the photocopy/turned it into pngs..... read here download here. Or just turn your head around and guess which page is next in order based on your own personal knowledge of how zines are folded, I suppose. Some sort of retrospective.

My pen broke for a bit after the commission, so this was the first thing I drew when I got it back. Experimented with multi media, the shoe is a stock image. Unsure if I like how it turned out. Good concept, though.

Symbolism abounds in this one. Posing in front of the graves of the people they're meant to take after, heaven and hell... used my favorite colors for this one, the aroace and lesbian flags respectively. When in doubt of color palettes just be homosexual. And it all works out in the end
SOMETHING'S MISSING AND I THINK IT'S ME

I have been feeling peculiar recently, so here is a piece about that. Honestly not really satisfied with this one, especially the colors (had to do some serious rearanging using program options to make me tolerate this one), but it was good rendering practice, especially for the water and the oilslick texture of Pike's blood. Don't like how the water meets the pool, should have thought through that one more... Nonetheless I got to try out a bundle of new things in this piece, and it was fun.

Wanted to draw a piece with old micheal, because I hardly ever do so, and because I wanted to do one after finally getting his ref down. It comes with a little tale about his death as well. Made a lot of composition notes on this one, but they're mostly spoilers so I can't give away most of them. Just know I used my brain real hard and put a lot of thought into it.

A piece I saw by Kei Ichikawa, Metamorphosis (original linked above!) was very inspiring, so I took the opportunity to study it. I'm happy with the results, especially the shading, which I feel like i'm getting better at rendering wise.

Hazard and Goliath. More experimenting with lasso tool! I particularly enjoy the composition here. I love pieces like these where size is less concrete and more of a surreal thing. Pieces that are more emotions based are funner for me because I get to play around.

Milli gave me a SPECTACULAR amv and I felt I had to repay him in full for that by making one of my own. This took a very long time but i'm very proud of it. After this I was pretty much finished with artfight, so as a retrospective I will say I had a lot of fun experimenting this year!!

took a break from the big artfight attack I was working on, doodled something for some new ocs that turned out to be a little bit bigger of a piece than I thought. Here Penn is being weighed down by the idea that he thinks has doomed him, Swords, the fictional detective. The words are lyrics to the song that inspired them.

An homage to House Of Leaves, which I finished reading a while ago and absolutely fell in love with. I really enjoyed the descriptions of Johnny's scars- left to right top to bottom it's his scarred lip/tooth and split eyebrow from Raymond, his arm scars from the oil, and the indents of the nails in his neck from his mother.

Trying out more rendering techniques and brushes. I like how the metal on Goliath's arm and how Goliath overall turned out, not too sure about peter. I think I have to learn that some things in art have to be kept simple to look good, despite pre concieved notions that you have to put hours on end into one strand of hair for it to look how I want. Learning process.
